PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW. First I want to say we are full time RVers that travel the country with a 42ft 17,000 pound rv. We put a lot of miles on our 2021 ram 3500 truck. As we were pulling into Palm Springs our engine light came on and the truck wouldn't shift out of first gear. After calling dealers all over the area and being told transmission parts for our truck are on a national backorder, they wouldn't even be able get us in to find out what was going on for 2 or 3 weeks. We started looking around at transmission shops all over town and found this Aamco transmission shop. Based on all the great reviews we limped the truck up to the shop and talked to the manager Mike, as soon as we walked in the door he treated us like he knew us our whole life. Best mechanic! Best shop! Our car broke down in Palm Springs and we are from LA. We thought it was a transmission problem!! We brought it to Mike and he helped us every step of the way! From diagnosing our problems ( not a transmission) to taking us to get a rental car, to taking to our mechanic LA mechanic. The positive attitude and kindness was uplifting. Outstanding Service and Problem-Solving! We had a fantastic experience at AAMCO Cathedral City on Ramon Road. Mike provided absolutely the best service. He was friendly, timely, and truly went out of his way to help us get our transmission diagnosed quickly. What really stood out was his exceptional effort to solve an unexpected problem. We had a large, heavy box in the back of our truck bed, preventing the vehicle from getting onto the lift. Most other places might have just said, "Sorry, not our problem," but Mike immediately started working on a solution. He figured out a way to safely remove the box for us. This kind of proactive, can-do attitude makes all the difference. We highly recommend this location!

My truck’s transmission started acting up, so I began calling dealerships and repair shops everywhere—from Palm Springs to Los Angeles to San Diego. Every single place told me the same thing: parts were hard to get and I’d need to leave my truck for weeks. Then, by chance, I drove past AAMCO and decided to give them a call. I spoke with Mike, and right away I could tell he was knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. He explained the issue clearly and told me the repair would take about 3–4 days, using updated parts that the manufacturer should have used from the start. I've had my car to my previous mechanic four times for the same issue and it never was properly fixed. I brought it to Mike this morning and they figured it out and my used car is driving better than it has since I got it. He dealt with my warranty insurance company and was able to negotiate for them to cover the entire amount of the repair. I'm so grateful to have found this shop! Mike is a gentleman and really help me out.
