AASTRO Transmission and Auto Repair

I brought my Ford Edge for a free diagnostics as I was explained over the phone. After about an hour and a half I was told it required further diagnostics, it needed to be hooked up to some advanced equipment and it would take about 4 hours and cost $370. Tests showed my transmission needed a rebuilt. To give cost for rebuilt they were going to charge me additional $800, which could be used towards repairs. I picked up my Ford and took it to AAMCO Transmission. AAMCO advised me the same thing in less than half an hour for free that took AASTRO over 5 hours and cost me $370. After my experience I would not trust integrity or expert opinion to do any of my car repairs ad AASTRO.

About five years ago, when one of our cars needed repairs, a good friend recommended AASTRO. We couldn’t have been more grateful for that referral. Since then, we’ve brought all our vehicles here for an oil change, required maintenance, or repairs and every experience has reinforces why we keep coming back. Most recently, my son’s car had a transmission issue and also needed some additional work. Patrick was absolutely wonderful! Always respectful and patient, taking the time to explain everything so we felt comfortable and informed. Ray, Graves, and the rest of the team also made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. Dishonest, bad customer service. Patrick is straight up rude over the phone. Refuses to give even a broad price range over the phone, then gave me 3 estimates (incompassing other issues than the original problem) once I brought my vehicle in. All were 40-50% more than the estimated average according to chat gpt. Then once I finally go to pay for the final repair, they have added about $100 extra charges for ‘shop materials’ and other miscellanious fees. Why those weren’t in the original estimate, I could never say, but it sure left me with the feeling that these guys are dishonest and sleazy. I’ve given them 2 separate repairs now, both times had similiar experiences. They tend to blame their behavior on ‘corporate’ and ‘all repair shops charge these fees’ and yet the other places will i

Avoid this shop at all costs! I took my car in for repairs multiple times since September of 2024, but the issues were never fixed. At one point they have had my car for over a month and is in worse condition. They returned it dirty, damaged the valve covers, improperly sealed the transmission pan, and misdiagnosed an alternator issue, costing me unnecessary expenses. Basic problems like an unbalanced driveshaft and clutch plate issues were ignored. I have hired a lawyer to take legal action. Unprofessional and careless service--stay away! Excellent service! Dropped my vehicle off in the AM for its 6month post transmission installation service. Had my vehicle back before noon. They always give you a great detailed service report so you know exactly what was done to your vehicle , and also any issues that you might be unaware of. Would highly recommend!
