AASTRO Transmission

I brought my 2009 Honda Civic here because it wouldn't start. Getting any communication from this shop was a struggle — they frequently didn't answer the phone or promised callbacks that never came. Finally I came in person to get an update. A staff member told me, twice — once to me directly and once to my sister — that as a diagnostic they had hot-wired the car and driven it several miles. They then told me that the fuse box was blown and quoted me $1,100 to replace the fuse box and wiring harness. This is a repair I was told by another trusted mechanic is essentially unheard of for a Honda. The price dropped to $1,000, then $900 when I pushed back. Avoid this shop at all costs! I took my car in for repairs multiple times since September of 2024, but the issues were never fixed. At one point they have had my car for over a month and is in worse condition. They returned it dirty, damaged the valve covers, improperly sealed the transmission pan, and misdiagnosed an alternator issue, costing me unnecessary expenses. Basic problems like an unbalanced driveshaft and clutch plate issues were ignored. I have hired a lawyer to take legal action. Unprofessional and careless service--stay away! Metal flakes make it look like the Milky Way had to completely redo it with a reputable company.

This place is a trip. I went in for a ticking sound from engine and a transmission leak which wasn’t to bad. I had about 3 droplet of transmission mission fluid on my driveway on the daily to a puddle of transmission fluid on my driveway after what they did. I took it in on a Saturday after astro had my truck all day I was told they couldn’t do anything to the leak from a sensor till Monday due to no master mechanic on site. I took it back Monday and signed a paper for $91 dollar diagnostic test for the engine and transmission leak. Astro called me at 4:40pm right before they closed to tell me the mechanic found the same leak from Saturday and quoted me about 1700. But also said Astro could take the price down to about 1300. This I found very uneasy because it seems very weasel like. Also

Super clean shop and very professional staff. These guys are great. They know their stuff and are very good at explaining to non mechanics like myself.

My special needs son & I moved from TX to AZ. I was concerned that I would not be able to find a dependable car repair shop due to my vehicle being 7 years old. My ac went out in June. (I had repairs done on the ac before moving here in May). The repairs done in TX was not a qualified repair shop for an ac, (which would have been under warranty) so I’m looking at a price tag of $3500. Good news though!!! Ray, the kind soul that he is, was able to honor & NOT charge me for the previous repairs done (which the part still had to be replaced) in TX which dropped the price to almost half. Also, I was given a loaner vehicle at NO charge. I highly highly recommend this place for ANY repairs needed on your vehicle!!!!
