Aegis Living Laurelhurst

My mother lived in Aegis - Laurelhurst on the memory care floor for the last four months of her life. She was 100 years old with significant memory loss, visual, and hearing challenges, but was always treated with love and respect. I, her daughter, managed her care and spent a lot of time in the facility. I was more than pleased with the warm, positive atmosphere at Aegis. Staff accompanied her on several ambulance rides to the hospital and waited for me to arrive before they left. Even the day before she died the staff had her up and participating (me too!) in exercises on YouTube. We looked at other living facility options for mom, but I was so happy that we chose Aegis!

I was visiting for an event and the food being served was outside of my dietary restrictions and I just opted for just an offered side and the chef (Tyler) noticed and worked with the waiter (Dune) to make sure I got a fantastic meal inside of my dietary restrictions and were also so discrete about it so I didn’t feel embarrassed or shy in front of my new partners family. Thank you Tyler and Dune for being so accommodating and sweet to me and making sure I got a great meal. I’d also like to add the chicken Tyler made to accommodate me was incredible and it will be something I will think about for years to come (that good) so again I am so impressed with these boys and they made my whole experience.

I moved my uncle for PA to Aegis Laurelhurst so that he could be close to us. It was the best decision for our family. The staff has been gracious and kind and caring. It has been a big shift for my uncle who has lived by himself for 65 years. All the staff know his name, address him by his name and communicate with him and us in a wonderful manner that shows that what they do is a passion. David, Ali, Brent, Pinda, Katie, Mary, James, Ernie are a few of the amazing staff at Aegis and we are greatful to them for their kindness.

I should have written this review months ago, but I find myself doing it now because of the unwavering kindness, compassion, and respect that the entire staff at Aegis has shown our dad since he became a resident. From the very beginning, they have cared for him with grace, patience, and a genuine warmth that has made all the difference. Our dad was hesitant about moving into assisted living, but the team at Aegis made the transition seamless. They gently encouraged him to come out of his room for meals, introduced him to the community in ways that felt comfortable, took the time to learn and remember his food preferences, and most importantly, always gave him choices, ensuring that he maintained his independence and dignity.
