Albany Senior Living by Cogir

My family member has lived at this community for nearly eight years, and we have seen several different directors come and go during that time. However, since Cogir took ownership, the shift in quality has been incredible. The environment is now much more enriching, and the team finally feels like a group that truly cares. The staff is consistently helpful, friendly, and—most importantly—they actually listen to concerns and desires. It is such a relief to have a leadership team that treats residents with the respect and attention they deserve.

Albany Senior Living is a beautiful and well-kept community. The property feels welcoming right when you walk in, and it’s clear the staff takes pride in keeping everything clean and comfortable for the residents. Sarah in the office was especially friendly and helpful when I stopped by. She took the time to chat and answer a few questions, which made the visit really pleasant.

The good news is that virtually all of the care givers and med techs are compassionate and skilled. There are a few issues, however. Essentially there is an issue keeping good staff members and maintaining a wholesome staff to resident ratio. Another issue is that it seems impossible to obtain an accurate accounting and or reimbursement of funds. I have sent two emails requesting same without a response. They have had several elevator breakdowns (two story building) that lasted a couple of weeks. They do not have an extra fax machine so that if one breaks down (essential for receiving a doctors prescription for morphine) the patient suffers immeasurably.

I toured this place for myself and think I am going to move in! Everyone was so nice and friendly. They shared a lunch with me. The food was amazing. Everyone I interacted with was kind and friendly. I can see me being happy here The rest of my days.

Nice facility that looks clean and attentive. The staff was friendly and very active with the residents. When i was there visiting some of the resident were watching a movie and laughing. It was a nice thing to see . Overall a nice place 😊
