Alewife Automotive is awesome. They’re extremely honest and only recommend what truly needs to be done — nothing more. I trust them completely. On a few occasions, they’ve helped me out when time was of the essence, and they came through without hesitation. Great guys. I recommend them without reservation.

I can not say enough incredible things about this shop. From the employees that you talk to, to the employees in the back you don’t really see or talk to much, they are all phenomenal people. George helped me out in ways I never thought a mechanic shop was capable of doing. He fought on my behalf for a month with my warranty company to make sure my car was in the shape that it should be. Every time they tried to counter with something else, he provided documentation, photos and anything else he needed to make sure they knew he was well informed about the car and the warranty that I bought. Best shop I’ve ever been to. Also, to top it off, they have such an affordable hourly rate compared to everyone else, especially dealerships. They are really serving the community by keeping their rates

The reviews are all accurate: the entire crew at Alewife Automotive is incredible. I had a transmission issue on my Subaru Ascent that the dealership couldn't diagnose, and Alewife spent two days tracking down the problem. They got a used replacement part (at a great price), installed it and then when that didn't solve the problem, left it in until they could replace it with another that would. The amount of labor and materials they put into fixing my car was NOT reflected in the final bill at all. Same goes for a tricky battery issue with my Mini they took care of the following week. Really happy with the service I received here getting my brakes fixed. George was transparent, fair, and very easy to work with throughout the whole process. He took the time to look over a few other things and make sure my car was in good shape, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend.

George and the team took such great care of our older hybrid. I searched endlessly for a well rated trusted hybrid mechanic as we were new to the area. I was so lucky to find George and team via Reddit articles. My husband took the car in the day after I called and George was able to fix it right away. I was so thankful that we now have a trusted mechanic in the Boston area!
