A&M Smog Star Certified

Very shady business, do not go! I went to get a smog check and was told it would cost $60 but they couldn't accept card because their card reader was down. I said that was fine since I had cash. When the technician inspected under my hood, he found some corrosion on my battery and told me I needed a battery replacement immediately or else my battery would give out. I knew right away he was scamming me since there was not nearly enough corrosion to cause problems (after the appointment, I used a $15 corrosion cleaning kit and my car has been running for months with no problems). Julio is great! Called to make an appointment and was told to come in because he was wrapping up with someone else just then. Took ~20 minutes, and he applied a $20 off discount to bring the total down to ~$60, which was much appreciated. Quick, friendly, and close to the DMV which is great! Do recommend.

Report them to Bureau of Automotive Repair if you have been scammed by them! If enough people reports their fraud business practices, they can be prosecuted for their crimes! FRAUD!!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!! They are a total scam. Half way through the test, he came to me and asked me to pay more because I have a catalytic converter shield on. I declined service and wanted to leave, but he said he already started the test and he treatened to fail my test if I don’t pay him the extra fee. This is smog checks fraud. He kept saying he got a ticket before. Well good, he’s gonna get another ticket soon for fraud.

Total trash. Would give these guys negative stars if I could. These guys were no help, and when my truck didn't connect with the computer they still ran the test and let it fail rather than telling me beforehand and not charging me. When I asked what the problem was, the attendant hollard at me in broken English that "I'm no mechanic"! These guys are horrible. If you want a great experience, do yourself a favor and go see Elio at State Smog 2 around the corner at 12630 Washington Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90066. He's friendly, personable, and open 7 days a week. After A&M screwed me, Elio helped me target the problem and explain to the dealer what needed to be done to get my truck back in good standing. Try Elio's place and skip yourself the hassle of dealing with the jabronis at A&M.

I just got my smog check done here. Julio was great and very friendly. They were quick with my vehicle, I only waited about 15 minutes for the actual smog check. Would go here again!
