I used this shop because I read reviews on their amazing communication with customers, but my experience couldn’t be any further from that. To this day I have not received any communication from this shop. No phone calls, no emails, no texts, nothing. Prompting for a review is the first time this shop has reached out to me in 3.5 weeks since I dropped my car off to be assessed for damages. I called them a week after originally dropping off the car since I hadn’t heard anything from them. When I spoke with them, they essentially told me it was way too soon to be expecting information and they would let me know when the car was finished being assessed and sent over to insurance. Amato’s is easily one of the best body shops in San Diego — and I’ve tried quite a few. I’m extremely picky with my Benz, especially when it comes to color touch-ups, chrome delete work, and repairs. Their pricing is fair, their estimates are honest and consistent, and their team has the skill and technology to deliver spot-on OEM paint matches. There are many shops near me, but I gladly drive 40 minutes for their service, and I’ve never had a single issue. Highly recommend.

I brought my Lucid Air at Amato's Auto Body last Sept 21 for a simple scratch on the side bumper, and only got it back today, Oct 22. It took them a month to repair it. They said they had to orders parts to replace the damaged parts. Anyway, one thing i don't really like is they don't give you an update of what's going on. I had to call several times to find out what's taking long. Also, on the day that I picked up my car, I was asked to wait for few minutes for them to put air in one of my tires, but while driving my car home, the tire pressure was still low. So I wonder what they were doing while I was waiting. Obviously, the technician didn’t really put air in my tire. So bad, they can do better than this.

We had the unfortunate experience of having our brand new 2025 Lexus struck in a parking lot. Not having hit or been hit by a vehicle before, we did not know where to begin for the repair. It would have been easy to just go with one of the options that were provided by the person's insurance, but we wanted our vehicle to be fixed properly. We asked the Lexus dealership (in Temecula) and they suggested Amato's (in San Diego). We have now learned both through our experience and from conversations with the staff at the car rental agency (Enterprise) that Amato's is THE place for body work on higher end cars. This is a professional and a very customer service business. Everyone I ever dealt with is very knowledgeable and professional. The work and the end result of the auto body repairs are impeccable. Like the car is coming off a showroom floor. I tell all of my friends and everyone is in agreement that this is a top notch auto body shop!!!
