Arcata Speed Wash

The prices here are outrageous, $15 in quarters for a large washer, and I brought home someone else's fleas from the washer 🤢 Horrible sanitary conditions, only 5 of the 20 or so dryers work so they're always full, and obviously no real cleaning happening. Gross.

The place is extremely clean and very well kept. Ray who was manning the laundromat was amazing! Told me some fun facts about Arcata and stories which kept me company till my wash was done! Thank you so much! He was a ray of sunshine. Tons of washers and dryers readily available even though a small few of them were out of service. Would be back when I’m visiting Arcata! My small machine wash was $4.50, I chose a longer wash! Drying was $2 for 40 mins!

It seemed like half of the machines are out of order and luckily it wasn't busy when we were there so we were able to use the 2 large washing machines since we had bedding to wash ($15 each) and $5 for the large dryer. I think only 1 was working. Friendly attendant.

Relatively cheap. Fast. $10+ for a double wash, $5+ for a single, dryers dry real fast, only spent a total of $2 drying 3 loads. Attendant was kind and helpful, and reimbursed me when a machine ate $1 worth of quarters. They have wifi, but no place to plug in a charger. I like that this place is chill and quiet, but greatly dislike the 2nd hand cigarette smoke from the staff smoking directly outside the door. I watched half of each exhaled puff drift right back into the store...

$5 double load wash and free dryers. attendant was super nice. way better experience than the last laundromat I tried in town
