Atlas Transmission

I informed the shop of my issue and vehicle type and when and how the vehicle would arrive. My name and number and vehicle type was taken. It ended with my truck being impounded because the lost my information and allegedly forgot I lost my 2009 suburban

Dropped my car off for a diagnostic check. The owner asked what was wrong, so I explained the codes my car gave. They said they’ll check it out… An hour and a half later they called me just to read me back the codes I already told him, and suggests that I take the car to the dealership because they don’t work on engines just transmissions. Literally called me back and told me the exact codes I told him, and said we don’t have the technology to pin point exactly which issue it can be. They don’t have the new technology to fix my year of vehicle. Whole time it says “Transmission and Total Auto Care” on the building.

On 8/3/2020 I drove my 2012 Chevy express van to Atlas transmission to have them check out the issue of why my transmission would stall sometimes when changing into forth gear on the expressway. I also had to address the previous issue with them installing a flywheel on 12/23/2019 in which I told the owner that it was recommended to purchase a flywheel from the dealer because it is a common problem in that vehicle and the aftermarket flywheel do not work well and the issue will return and the dealer part is more durable with a warranty. He assure me that he would purchase a dealer flywheel and install it and service my transmission. He charged 1,039.00 on 12/23/2019. Sunny, the owner, had my water pump and timing belt installed on my car. He finished it on time and did not give me an excessive bill. What makes him stand out is this: I had a mobile mechanic replace my spark plugs on my V-6 engine, but he put the spark plug wires incorrectly. He also messed up the drive by wire for the accelerator pedal. The mobile mechanic said he would come back and fix it, but he did not, and he didn’t return my calls or texts. Sunny took my car and fixed the problem at no charge. That shows exemplary character! Reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy are the adjectives I would use to describe Atlas transmission. I would not hesitate to take my car back to him. The simple truth is that an honest mechanic shop is hard to find. I recommend them highly!

All I can say is “beware”. Claimed to have put a rebuilt transmission in. Starting noticing possible slipping issues prior to the end of the “so called warranty”. Brought the car back to shop reluctantly, and I was then told that it was out of the warranty time and mileage and that it would be “at least another $1500 to look at and fix the problem. He also told me that “sometimes the gears go bad”. Car is running worse than it did before I brought it to them. Literally less than a year since the initial repair. My advise, go somewhere else.
