Average Automotive

My sister and I got a flat right outside their shop. They had just opened and the woman was just getting settled, but she grabbed a jack and some tools and helped get my tire off. She even did the work! She let us hold onto the tools until we got the tire back on, and didn't charge us. GREAT, kind people. We will absolutely be going there for any issues we have.

I have written several reviews over the years. This is merely my second negative review, but it has to be made. I bought a used S10 this past May. It didn't run very good so I tried running Seaford through it to no avail. A few days later tried starting it and had to use starting fluid. It ran fine til stalling. Towed it to Average Automotive in Ocala to look at. Less, lead mechanic, took a look at it the next day and said that cylinder number 5 was filling up with water. This WAS NOT happening prior to my towing it there! I was further informed that I had to replace the motor, etc., etc. , and that it would cost me around $800. This is part 2 of this review: Not only were my wife, 2 werk old baby, and myself made to sit there in the hot sun (with no ac) for 4 hours, all because Less had called to make sure the tow truck drivers took their time (we know this only after being told so by a third party), but we later learned that someone at Average Automotive had poured several gallon of water in my gas tank while the truck was there. How do I know? Because the mechanics at B&S Auto Salvage and Repair told me so. You DO NOT want to take your vehicle to Average Automotive for any reason! You may not end up regretting it, but do you really want to take the chance? I wouldn't, which is why I spent the time writing this review.

We had them replace the motor in our vehicle and they were very fair in their pricing. They are professional and care for their customers. Have had them do a couple smaller maintenance repairs since. Would highly recommend if you need a reliable mechanic in the Ocala area.

Way above average, since the work was done on my jeep, they have done 4 other family member vehicle. Each one was very happy with how professional and priced they are.
