Avis Car Rental

I made a reservation today online for 7am. I reserved a Toyota Camry with a reservation confirmation number.. When I went to pick the car up I was told they couldn't honor my reservation because they didn't have a car for me. I stated I'll take whatever you got and I got told they don't have anything for me and they would contact me if they have anything in the evening, but it's not a guarantee. How isn't a reservation a garentee? How does a rental car company not have anything extra available? It's 4:20pm right now and I still haven't heard from them. I'm never using Avis again. This was a waste of time and planning.

They did everything needed of a car rental business. Even got a free upgrade, Yes, I've used them before and will if the need arises use them again in the future. Polite, professional and helpful staff.

The two guys that helped at pick-up and drop-off were great! Got everything taken care of online beforehand and efficiently got me on the road afterwards.

Deceptive Pricing and Unfair Cancellation Charge Absolutely unacceptable experience with Avis. I was in the middle of checking out a rental when the rate suddenly changed without any notification. No warning, no explanation—just a higher price at the final screen. Naturally, I canceled the reservation immediately—literally five minutes after booking—and was STILL slapped with a $50 cancellation fee. This is blatant price manipulation and completely unethical. I didn't even complete the checkout process under the original rate I agreed to. Charging customers for backing out of a shady bait-and-switch is beyond frustrating—it's dishonest. I will never rent from Avis again, and I’ll be sharing this experience widely. Beware.

Made a reservation with Avis a day before pick up on Feb 2nd and they assured me I would have a Toyota Rav4. If I cancelled I would have to pay $150. I get to Atlanta Airport, wait in a long line. No Toyota Rav 4 or any car in that class, but did have a Subaru in an elite class adding $70 to the rental leaving me with no other choice; having an urgent out of town trip. I dispute they could charge 150 to cancel but they could force me to pay for car I did not request. They made no accommodation what so ever. Accountability is a 2 way street. Respect my dollar. I don't recommend Avis for rentals. Stay away.
