Avis Car Rental

If I could leave zero stars I would. I travel often for work and rent cars all the time and have never experienced something like this. Our horrible experience this morning is too long to write in this review but be warned…Dwight at the counter is rude, unprofessional, never apologized for not having the car my company reserved available. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life and was shocked and Dwight’s behavior. I ended up having to leave with no car and ZERO apology from Dwight. I’m letting my production company know to never rent from Avis again. I should’ve looked at reviews beforehand and saved myself the extreme aggravation I experienced this morning and the hour of my life I wasted at this location.

I rarely make reviews so if i’m making one it was legitimately a terrible experience. I called in to see about picking up a car early. I had a reservation that I made a few days prior. I was told by the manager that they were just about to call me because there are no cars available. i asked how is it possible to make a reservation if there are no cars in stock. She told me that Avis allows for current rentals to extend even if there are reservations on top of that. I found this troubling. Thank God i called in early. Who knows if they would’ve contacted me before i got into an uber to get there. Most troubling part was that I wasn’t even really offered an alternative. I asked to cancel my reservation and was abruptly hung up on. I’d genuinely go with any other car rental service. I’m walk

Edit: Don't be fooled by the social media team response below. When contacted they simply reiterated that for reservations made with short-notice cars might not be available. This location was open for 2 hours before I arrived for pickup, and I never received any call or email notifying me that a car was not available. Avis president's club member that showed up after an Uber ride and was told they don't have any cars despite my reservation. They claimed to have emailed and called me, but when they showed me the email there was a clear typo and the email had bounced. Ridiculous treatment.

I could not be more pleased & grateful for my experience with renting a car this weekend from THIS location. My car was due back today by noon, but I woke up this AM to call from my bother, who needed to be taken to the ER with intense stomach pains. I called to ask for a late arrival, Lala was very emphatic & understanding, then when I dropped it off, she checked me right out so I could hop back in my Uber to the ER. She was so kind & supportive, not to mention the gentleman that got me in my car yesterday, was super helpful & prompt, too. I am here in Culver City often, & THIS is my new go-to! Special thanks to Lala for making a very stressful day, that much calmer. You rock!

My mother and I had a reservation for a car at 9am. At 8.59am as we were walking out the door to get the car, we got a call from Avis telling us they had no vehicles at that location. We were told the earliest they were expecting a vehicle is 1pm (they would call us if there was something earlier but no guarantees). We had a 3 hour drive to our destination. Waiting until 1pm would essentially make the roadtrip meaningless, as we were returning early the next day. And we had an expensive hotel reservation we could not cancel by that point. The location gave us the number of customer service and told us to call them to see if there was availability elsewhere, but that they themselves could do nothing to help us other than wait for someone to return a vehicle and call us.
