Avis Car Rental

I arrived right when Avis opened to pick up my car, and it wasn’t ready—it was dirty and still being cleaned—which made me late for work and I was reprimanded. I asked for another car and was refused. When I later returned the vehicle, the situation escalated within four minutes of arriving to drop it off. Staff were rude, inflexible, and dismissive, demanded I carry all my belongings into the office even though my husband was arriving to pick me up, and the manager ignored my concerns entirely. Extremely unprofessional and unapologetic. I will never return.

Moses was very nice and super helpful as were the other employees. Kind, honest, and patient. The car was in great condition, verified by my own independent mechanic. Oil life was at 25% and breaks at 50%/20% front/back. Otherwise all perfect. They even gave me the original manufacturers floor pads instead of gross generic ones. Financing was more than fair, rather than trying to dupe me into a higher rate they found me a lower one than I had with my bank. Very positive experience overall.

I believe the manager here and the manage at the Glendale office are in cahoots to claim they have a vehicle over at the other office to get out of their situation when someone reserved using their website. Both managers lied and will gaslight you claiming it was you that was wrong even if you have email confirmation that the car is available and ready for pick up. I would avoid using this and the glendale office avis/budget if you can. Avis will now not honor the 10 dollar cancellation fee from uber because it "falls outside the realm" even though I had to cancel to call to change from Burbank to Burbank Airport through their customer service because I will not spend an hour to go to the airport and pay for a lyft to get told a third time they do not have any vehicles. Here from out of state and i needed a car on two occasions. The agent was great, friendly and accommodating. The vehicles were clean and fresh. I would rent here again.

*Do not book your reservation at this location***. You will make your reservation time in advance, during normal business hours only to be told the next day that your "reserved" vehicle is not available. At this time a rep will chime in and state that reservations are not guaranteed. OK. But cancelation emails or a notice of an unavailable vehicle should be sent to customers before the pick-up time, which in my case, i wasn't provided a single notice in advance and missed out on a job. Extremely unprofessional location. Do not book here.
