Avis Car Rental

TLDR: they will charge you for gas even if you turn the car in with more fuel than it had at pickup. I'm beginning to think it's an industry standard, but they fraudulently charged me a fee for fuel. I suspect they charge a small amount extra on every rental, because most people won't fight a small charge. Mine was not much, just under $20, but absolutely impossible, and I have proof. (Previous similar fraudulent charges had me on my guard). I don't know whether it's rental car corporations that have set a policy of defrauding their customers, or if their employees are just stealing gas at customers' far higher expense. We decided to rent a car to go visit a church in Nashville rather than add miles to our own car which we just had an engine replacement. We picked the mystery car to save some money and also added my wifes discount code to save more, and selected pay-now to save even more. Bradley and team at the vehicle return lot went out of the way to help me get the car seat I left yesterday in my rental. They were kind helpful and professional. They were great.

My experience with the lost and found process at Avis HSV has been extremely disappointing. I submitted a lost item report, only for it to be deleted without any explanation. I also went to the office in person, but received no real assistance. I was simply told they would “get to it when they get to it,” which was frustrating to hear. I even called customer service hoping for help, but still wasn’t able to get any clear answers or follow-up. Overall, the lack of communication and urgency made the entire situation far more difficult than it needed to be. I really hope this location improves how they handle lost items and communicates with customers moving forward.

Second time this year renting from this company (Budget then Avis), at the same location. My God, I have no idea what is going there.....I assume that there is no training whatsoever. First time I had to call the Airport communications center before I could get a receipt and threaten to report the car stolen (had my pictures). This time I received a charge for a toll road in Virginia...but, it was for the same time I was landing at HSV and unless I was renting a rocket ship, then it would be physically impossible.
