I personally handed the keys to a staff member, and I was told everything was taken care of. The next day, I was charged for an additional day of rental plus tax. I attempted to call the office during business hours, but no one answered — it goes straight to voicemail. I left a detailed message including my rental agreement number and contact information, but several days have passed and I have not received a call back. I also contacted Avis customer service, but unfortunately they were not able to help resolve the issue. I have since created a support ticket through the website and am hoping they will correct the

I prepaid a booking for a luxury sedan. ($285) when trying to pay and close out the booking a repeated error message came up telling me the booking could not be completed. Okay thats fine ill take the money elsewhere, however i go check my bank, and they placed a hold anyway. This morning i call to see if the glitch still booked and the person at the desk, told me to call customer service before even seeing if my booking came through. I said well can you see if you got my booking first? He said “i just got here”. As if his job hadn't started yet or something. Said he would call back, never did. Beware when you return a car to the Avis at the Kalamazoo International Airport. I recently turned a car into them, gave them the keys, the spot number and they said I was all set. Then a few days later I got a charge on my credit card for $3,141.60 (I rented the car for one day. I had it for about 5 hours total.) I called customer service and was told that the car never got checked in and they will escalate the situation and it would take about 5 days for the charge to get taken care of. Be sure to ask for a receipt or proof of return when you return to this location so you don't end up with the same issue.

Worst experience ever. I sat at the airport for over 10 hours with my 3-month-old baby and still didn’t get a car. After we finally gave up that night, we had to come back the next day. The manager Wally was rude, cold, and completely heartless. They kept giving us random excuses like “the internet is down,” “the system isn’t working,” “your booking number doesn’t show up,” and a bunch of other things that made no sense. Budget Hotline tried to work with him to figure out the issue but he refused! This person needs to be fired! Eventually we found out from other rental counters that this kind of thing actually happens a lot with them. That was the moment everything clicked. We will never go to this counter again. My mom had never rented a car before, the customer service at the desk was great however when she got to the car it was covered in snow & when she got the car home & really took a look, inside was filthy. It had not been or even attempted to be cleaned after it's last use. There was a hole in the back seat, what looks like makeup on the ceiling & mirror on the passenger side & just dirty. Thankfully she took pictures so they're date & time stamped definitely will help her to rent from else where in the future.
