Avis Car Rental

First I will not state I had bad service it was ok. I am a long time AVIS rental customer. My complaint is NO SPARE TIRE in vehicle. If something was to happen to a tire roadside assistance couldn't even help change it. ONLY OPTION IS TOWING! What if you needed to maintain a travel schedule for business or pleasure? Waiting for towing on the side of a road or highway. Then where would they take you? Dealership? Tire place to replace tire? Perhaps it was a Sunday or late night were most all are closed. Then what? Sleep in the car till they open? Hotel reservations lost, need to Uber or find alternate transportation to find a place to stay if you were not even close to your destination? Totally unacceptable! We needed an emergency rental after totaling our car on vacation and the girl here (didn't catch her name!!) made the process so smooth we were on our way within thirty minutes!! If I could give more stars I would!

I have been renting from this location for a while and I have nothing but excellent experience here since they have a new management for several months now. Previously it was always stressful and uncomfortable. The new gentleman behind the counter is always nice and doing everything always his best. I am happy to come here every time now because he is awesome

I have been a member at Avis for a very long time. I have rent cars over 10 times from this location in Lake City, my experience was always excellent. However that is not the case anymore, I recently went to rent a car (Aug 2025) and was greeted by a big sweaty angry black man at the front who boldly & rudely said "I am the owner of this place" ...."I'm the new owner"....he made serveral other remarks in a rude unprofessional tone while I remained calm. At the end I REFUSED the rental, because the interaction was so ackward and the car was extremly dirty and he walked away and offered no solutions. I will never go there again nor will I recommend anyone to rent cars from there.

The car I reserved was not available. Nothing even near close to what I reserved was available. There were 2 choices a minivan and a Buick. The girl behind the counter was unapologetic and told me they never have the car type I reserved and because I was an hour early if I wanted to to come back at 1030, I'd have a better selection. I was obviously frustrated on why I was able to book something they don't have. She told me to take it up with customer service. I left to WALK to the grocery store so I could return an hour later and have a better selection. While at the grocery, the manager calls me and starts our conversation with a huge attitude and a chip on her shoulder. She tells me I have two choices, period. She was very confrontational and rude.
