Avis Car Rental

GREAT experience with my rental here on Jan. 9, 2026! And all because of the lady, Donna, behind the counter. I arrived on time for my pick up, and when I walked in Donna was working alone, trying to help a customer on the phone, who was really giving her a hard time, and it sounded like the customer was trying to pull something over by not having their correct information to provide for the rental. Donna was able to mitigate this without becoming agitated or making me wait. She had my paperwork done quickly and efficiently, and I was given a beautiful, immaculate vehicle. When I dropped off the car at the end of my rental, she met me right in the parking lot, shook my hand, and thanked me for the business. Such a pleasure to do business with this woman. Our first time using this Avis to pick up a rental. The experience we had with Kathy was above and beyond! She was very helpful and did everything she could do to get us a vehicle for my husband to drive Uber. She was very knowledgeable and courtesy. While we was waiting to get the car their was 3 different customers that came in to get a vehicle and was told they didn’t have any at this time. These customers were very rude and saying things to her that was a disgrace but she remained professional! Highly recommend working with this Avis in the future! Absolutely horrendous experience. Horrible customer service. Zero/5. You can’t call and talk to the locations to verify THEY ACTUALLY have cars before going there, you get patched in with someone that barely speaks any English, they refuse to let you talk to the branch. Absolute worst customer service in the world, they can’t tell you which cars they have available but “they promise” they have some. They say we know they have cars but we don’t know which ones and for how long you can rent it. My head is spinning in frustration. So after spending how much time and money going one hour to pick up the car today: I didn’t want to do that again. If you are renting for Uber, be aware that you will receive a filthy car, rarely do they have gas in them, washer fluid and oil change will be needed. Also, cracked windshields, broken car door handles, dead key fobs, and broken tail lights are given as a normal rental. I have been through two cars in one week and they were both a nightmare. I even missed a shift due to a broken headlight that I was told to fix on my own. You are responsible for cleaning the car when you get it as well as keeping up with maintenance out of pocket with promise of reimbursement at a later date. The More You Know type situation that has cost me more money than the Kia Forte is worth. I hope this helps someone.

Buyer Be Aware! Ripoff location with AVIS sticker in window. Pay the extra money at the airport! Unless you don’t mind being told we don’t have your car…only EVs available - and that is not AVIS’ problem because they consider it same vehicle. Also indicated never have driven an EV vehicle. No empathy. Just signed up as preferred customer, will be canceling when I return from my trip. Another American icon that disappeared.
