Avis Car Rental

Not sure if anyone at Avis/Budget even cares about customer feedback. Their website is completely unreliable — it shows cars that aren’t actually available, and customer service has no idea about real inventory. I called ahead and was told the car I wanted was ready. No one at the rental center answered the phone to confirm, and when I arrived, they said they didn’t have the car at all. Then why take reservations in the first place? It might as well be a walk-in-only rental service. Utterly disappointing experience.

Representative called me the DAY OF notifying me that my PAID reservation could not be honored because they had no cars available. Mind you, I paid for the reservation 4 days prior. Seems someone should have known there would be no cars prior to the morning I planned on picking up the vehicle. Only resolve she suggested was for me to call other locations which I did and as expected nothing was available at such short notice. Nothing was offered to me for the inconvenience either. This was my second time reserving a car from this location. My first experience a few months prior was excellent. Very disappointed.

Made a reservation 4 months in advance. Called a few days ahead of time to check on something and was told they could not honor my reservation because no cars would be available. Agent was abrupt and sassy...almost as if they felt like it was my fault for expecting a car that I reserved to be available on a holiday weekend. I said I was surprised no one had called to cancel, and was told that they wait until the day before to do this...even though they know already that they can't honor the reservation. Agent offered no suggestions, but when I asked for suggestions they told me to call customer service and change my reservation to the airport. Not only is this going to add hours to my trip (to get in and out of the airport from north of the city on a holiday weekend), but I found out

I tried to return my car rental at 6 pm at this location when my reservation ended. I was worried I may be 5 minutes late due to heavy traffic from flooding, accidents and downed trees from Hurricane Helene. When I called Avis, the employee told me she was leaving 10 minutes early and I would have to pay for an extension on my reservation and return the next day. I did. When I came to drop off the car, it was the same employee whom I spoke to the evening before. I asked her name and she refused to tell me and told me I had an attitude when I asked why I couldn't have simply returned the car when my reservation ended at 6. I needed the extra 10 minutes she wouldn't allow me, again due to repercussions from a hurricane! The last time I've seen customer service this bad was when I vacationed

If there was a way to put 0 stars I would. After another Avis failed to provide the car I reserved, customer service sent me to this location and specifically named the car that they had available for me. Upon arrival the lady at the desk was extremely rude and unhelpful saying they had no cars available and didn’t care what customer service had said. I realized that this is a company problem, not just a location as the customer service people who had just sent me there offered no explanation other than trying to send me to a 3rd location. Customer service was terrible, service was obviously terrible, was lied to multiple times. Went with National Car Rental and they provided what I needed after Avis told me nobody in the city had any cars….Company is a joke.
