Completely Unacceptable Experience This is, without question, the worst car rental location I have ever encountered in nearly 20 years of living in Delaware. The Newark, DE Avis facility is in deplorable condition—run down, poorly maintained, and resembling an old warehouse rather than a customer-facing business. More concerning, every vehicle I was offered reeked of marijuana and smoke. I was initially given a Toyota Corolla. Upon immediately reporting the strong weed/smoke odor, I was reluctantly switched to a Toyota Camry—only to find it smelled just as bad. I was then told no other vehicles were available unless I paid to “upgrade” to an SUV. This is unacceptable, especially when the issue is basic cleanliness and safety, not personal preference. Neither vehicle appeared to be proper

I used to really love this Avis location — they were always great at meeting my needs. However, my recent experience was very disappointing. I don’t know if it’s the economy or just changes in staff attitudes, but the customer service has definitely gone downhill. The heavyset gentleman with the blonde ponytail was extremely rude and dismissive when I picked up my car, and the dark-haired woman at the counter spoke so quickly that when I politely asked her to slow down, she snapped back, “I didn’t speed up,” in a nasty tone. When I asked the man for help, he was equally short and unhelpful, saying she was “just doing her job.” It was an unpleasant and unprofessional interaction overall. I have the car for two weeks, but I’m planning to return it early and rent from a different Avis locat

A bit tricky to find since the building has "spallco" in large type from the view of the main street. It is also in a gated fenced area that I assume the gate is open during business hours of Avis. Inside, the agent was very friendly and helpful. She pulled up my reservation and assigned me a vehicle according to the reservation efficiently. Would definitely consider renting from this location again if I needed to.

Highly recommend!! This was my first time renting a car from this location for a weekend getaway. Ms. Lisa at the counter was more than helpful and explained everything thoroughly. She took exceptional care of my girlfriend and I when we came in and went as far as giving us her number in case we had any questions or issues. Will be returning here for my next rental.

Had a flat tire the previous night on my rental and had to swap in the spare. Headed to this AVIS location at open the next morning to see if I can exchange my vehicle. The rep onsite was efficient and within 10 min, got me another vehicle. Quick and easy, excellent customer service.
