AVIS RENT A CAR

Terrible experience. Very scammy feel. Will tell you they have no other vehicles left but an EV to drive a one way. The gentleman at the counter said "you will be fine." Car was not charged all the way when recieved, but the paperwork said full fuel. This means you will be stopping multiple times to LA (3 minimum). Mentioned the low price I paid and that vehicles are not guaranteed. So it was take it or leave it. If you reserve an automatic, it should be automatic period. He also told me to rent from the airport since they have an abundance of cars. I rent super often and it sounds to me like they just want to save the most desired cars and you can't cancel without a cancellation fee.

Stuff working here knows barely nothing about the toll service. In addition, they cheated me about the fastrack service on highway 101. I was told by them, that with 3 people, without the fastrack machine, we don’t need to pay, which is wrong. Even with 3 people, the fastrack machine is still needed on the car. We enabled the toll service for the car and they couldn’t explain how will we be charged for the toll fee. In addition, they charged much more than the booked price. With my booking, original price was 224 usd, they charged 260 with toll service added for two days. However, when I returned the car, the new receipt became 271 usd. Something else is the car they have to us has the strong smell of weed! I won’t recommend this place.

STOP!!! Whatever you do, run, don’t walk, from Avis. I rented a car from the Avis location at Terminal B, San Jose Mineta International Airport on August 28, 2025. I was outright defrauded by Avis. First, I rented the car at about 5:30 PM. However, I did not need the car until 7:30 PM and asked if I could make the reservation and get the car at 7:30 PM. Avis told me that the rental rates were going up at 6:00 PM and that I should rent the car before 6:00 PM to avoid the cost increase. That was an outright lie. And, the Avis’s lies and fraud continued. I told Avis that I needed a car with adaptive cruise control. I told them that I have been driving cars with adaptive cruise control for eight years, and that it would be unsafe for me to drive a car without adaptive cruise control

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot say enough good things about Arley at Avis! His exceptional customer service is the reason I always choose Avis, even if it means traveling 10-15 miles from my home just to be helped by him. Arley is incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and patient—he truly listens to customers and ensures they have the best experience possible. His professionalism and warm attitude make the entire rental process smooth and stress-free. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about customers the way he does. Pathetic front desk staff and customer service. We prepaid a standard suv and they glued us with a truck saying that’s the only option they got even after reserving. Never renting from this place again
