I had an old transmission that needed replacement on my work truck. After looking around and researching for literally months, I finally decided to pull the trigger on an upgraded tow/daily unit from Black Shepherd Auto LLC, and I could not be happier! This thing shifts NICE and the price was exactly where it needed to be. John is a great guy too! He is auper knowledgeable and has a ton of great resources that he provides to you when you purchase a transmission.

After burning up my second stock 4r100, I knew it was time to have a professional build me one, and I’m so grateful that I found John and Black Shepherd Auto! John knows these transmissions inside and out, and his work speaks for itself. He was fantastic to communicate with throughout the process. The 4r100 and the converter he built to go with it installed very smoothly with the included instructions. The quality was immediately evident on the first test drive. I’ve never felt my truck shift better than it does now. And I’m very excited to put it to the test with a load behind it. I’m confident that I will get a very long service life out of my new BSA transmission and would recommend John and his crew to anyone!

I’m not going to come here and give the “5 stars because he performs great work” review, because genuinely 5 stars is not enough. for the price i got my e4od from him, (performer series, more than $5000) i’d pay that in SERVICE ALONE. long story short, i got the built trans from him, I installed it in my truck, did all the procedures and testing he instructed me to do(instructions came with qr codes that direct you to youtube videos THAT HE MADE for visual learning), and then went for the test drive. trans shifted great! except there was something off with overdrive not shifting correctly, to which he gave me all schematics and diagrams to diagnose my truck with (as my old trans had the same problem, did not want to jump to conclusions that his trans was the problem). Purchasing and Pick Up was smooth and I feel Confident my Truck will Tow for many More Miles! Highly Recommend!

Very knowledgeable person when it comes to these transmissions very easy to talk to either over the phone or in person. You can tell that corners are not cut in process of rebuilding these units and no time is spared down to the cleaning of the units…it’s safe to say I’m very pleased with the unit that I purchased and I’ll forever be a customer and will recommend these units to anyone and everyone
