Blake's Automotive Performance

This guy does great work, super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The best shop in town in my opinion. We have went to Blake’s Automotive Performance since moving to Redding in 1991 and have always been more than satisfied with both the work done and the price he has charged. I would recommend to anyone.

I have got to be honest, from what I have heard he does great machine work here. The only problem(s) is that he takes 3 months or more to do a simple job and is dishonest. And everyone I have spoken to said it took at least 3 months to get simple work done. In the middle of this long wait process, he also tried to raise his quoted price(because he decided he had quoted to low after hearing I called other places to see if they could get it done any faster) even though he had never started the work. He does work without authorization and then tries to charge you for it. He tried to keep all of the parts that I had bought and brought in to him because he did work that I did not authorize and said if I did not pay for it then I could not have any of my parts back. The most important thing about this place is that he is a honest mechanic. It does take a little longer than most shops here to get stuff done since it's a one man shop but atleast you know that the man here does a good job and is honest with you. He doesnt try to upsell on any thing that isn't 100% important or a danger nor does he BS you about what's going on. Just a solid straight up man at this shop.

Blake knows his stuff about cars and is really good with high performance stuff. Especially Cylinder head porting.

Very knowledgeable, and not stingy with his knowledge. Every time I talk to Blake, I learn a lot about engine building. Great guy!
