Brakeman's Auto Repair

After relocating to New England, I sought a trustworthy auto repair shop and discovered Brakeman’s Auto Repair in Jamaica Plain, MA. Their numerous 5-star Yelp reviews highlighting exceptional service, quality, and professionalism caught my attention. Upon visiting their website, I was impressed by their rich family history in mechanics, which prompted me to schedule an appointment. Surprisingly, securing a slot was easy despite their stellar reputation.  Using the Waze app for navigation, I encountered minor inaccuracies; however, locating the shop became straightforward once I realized it’s situated across from the gas station on the corner, housed in a distinctive green building. The owner, Ray, was both kind and courteous. He thoroughly examined my brakes and rotors, informed me that

When I had my oil changed at another business, I learned that I needed new brakes front and back - rotors and pads. I was a bit shocked at the cost and did some research online and found Raymond (The Brakeman) with nothing but five star reviews. He was able to get me in right away and completed the job the same day for a very fair price and he couldn't be nicer to deal with. Highly recommended.

Needed my brake rotors & pads replaced completely and asap. I called on a weekday morning and was able to bring in and get it done the same day. After he completed the fix and took the car for a test drive to make sure everything went smoothly, he also noted another potential tire issue to watch out for but no pressure to service immediately. Note that there is additional processing fee to pay with credit so prepare cash instead.

Ray is a great guy. Hardworking, honest and reliable. Wouldn’t trust my elderly parent’s car brakes with anyone else.
