Budget Car Rental

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS LOCATION, especially if you are a cruise customer. Currently waiting outside the location for an Uber to take us to the Fort Lauderdale Airport to get a Hertz rental because we waited over an hour outside our cruise terminal for a shuttle that never came, then paid a taxi to take us to the location where we found a full sidewalk of people waiting for cars that don’t exist in their system. It really put a damper on the end of our honeymoon, which was a day of exploring Miami before flying back home out of Fort Lauderdale. Clearly we aren’t the only upset customers. Truly one of the worst operated rental car locations. Issues stem from long waits, overcharges, and cars w/ no gas. I had a reservation, but waited two hours to pickup my rental. The two employees were burdened with ~100 people waiting to get a car. I couldn't use my Budget Fast Pass (express line) as that line we commendered by people disembarking a cruise ship. The agent didn't use my reservation and overcharged me by ~$150, which I ultimately reconciled in an hour long discussion w/ their customer service. When I finally got the car, it had no gas. (Budget papers say 00.8/gals.) So first stop w/ my semi-clean car - the gas station. This all could have been avoided if Budget did a better job of coordinating w/ cruise lines to know when the masses are coming and staffing up appropri

HORRIBLE. NEVER COME HERE. THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE DISASTER. From the moment you arrive, everything is a mess. Terrible service, zero organization, and an overall awful experience. The staff is unhelpful and clearly doesn’t care about fixing any issues. I wasted my time and money here. Avoid this place at all costs.

After waiting at the Miami Cruise Port for over an hour with 4 other couples without a glimpse of the Budget Shuttle, we took a cab to the office on 2nd street in Miami. There we were told that the shuttle bus driver was in an accident. Several called why were waiting to get a message that did not say there would be no shuttle. The fellows at the port said they often do not show up. After arriving at the office with a large cab fare, we stood in line for an hour before we could get a car. We are fast break members but that did little. This is the worst experience we have had with a car company in over 50 years of travel. We should have read the reviews first, our bad, and we never would have booked with Budget. I am sorry they are so ill equipped at this office to handle customers.

Returned a rental here specifically to use the shuttle service to the cruise terminal. When we arrived there had to be 75 people or more with luggage waiting for the shuttle. We could not get in the lot to return the car and had to wait about 15 minutes just to get inside the fence due to the amount of people. Chaos is the best word I could use to describe the situation. We returned the car and got no paperwork or anything from the attendant. We walked about 2 blocks away and paid another $60 for an Uber to get to the cruise terminal. Do not use this as a return if your looking for a shuttle to the port, it is a total waste of time. You have been warned as I was by the reviews but didn't believe it could be that bad
