Budget Car Rental

Do not book Budget. I had to wait for over an hour to pick up my car because Budget counter was closed and the sign said: go to Avis. Avis was full and only one person working the counter. When I finally reached the counter I asked how come Budget is closed. She said, and I quote: We are not that busy! Take a look at the pictures and you decide if they were busy or not.

Rented a vehicle on Friday November 7 and returned it on monday November 10. Filled the tank up in Loving New Mexico drive back to Midland where I again topped off the tank about a quarter of a miles or less from the drop off point. Noticed on November 13th they had in fact charged my card and additional 132.54. Called at 721 in the morning was told i had to fill out a form and submit pictures of receipts which I only have thru my banking info not a big deal. At 230pm still haven't received forms. Was told first they are having problems with their emails and then I would have to wait for an hour. No ma'am I have already waited over 6. Asked to speak to a supervisor was redirected to another lovely automated system where I could only leave a message. This has been the experience thu

Gave us a car that was calling apart inside, tank was not full, car kept saying needs oil change. Horrible Girl at counter didn't look up from her phone once. Never again will I text from budget.

When I picked up the car, it was covered in ashes. I didn’t notice until I had already driven about 15 minutes, so I had to return to the location—wasting 30 minutes. You then exchanged the vehicle and gave me another one, but this car had visible damage on the back and side. I had to walk back to the kiosk to get the pink inspection slip and mark the damage, which took another 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the issues didn’t end there. After I returned the car, I received an email receipt and noticed an unexpected $18 charge. I went back to the kiosk to ask about it. The staff didn’t provide any explanation but corrected the charge. Because of all these delays, I was late to my scheduled appointment. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience.

On May 15th, I made a reservation for a rental car at 2:00 PM. I arrived at the rental location early — at 1:30 PM. However, I was told that the car was not ready and I would have to wait another full hour. This is absolutely unacceptable for a service that operates based on confirmed reservations. Because of this delay, my entire schedule was disrupted. I missed important business appointments, my day was completely ruined, and I incurred additional financial losses as a result. I consider this level of service to be unacceptable. I will no longer use Budget Rental Car and do not recommend this company to anyone. I hope the management takes this matter seriously and reviews how confirmed reservations are being handled.
