Budget Car Rental

We needed to drop our car off at Mesa AZ airport for early morning flight and Google recommended to confirm they had a after hours return drop box at the airport. I tried to call the Mesa counter, never connected, rolled over to Budget offices literally overseas, multiple times! No one could give me a local Mesa airport number that connected to them so I could ask this simple question. One of the agents even told me to drive to the airport to talk to them in person! SO, I did. What a joke! So if it helps anyone else, please note they DO have after hours drop box at the Mesa AZ airport. Not the way we wanted to spend our last night of vacation!

I was in and out quickly. The gentleman at the desk was efficient. The car was in good condition and a pleasure to drive. The only issues; the inside of the windshield wasn't very clean and the windshield wiper fluid was low.

Please I say please never rent from Rapid City Budget. They will. Barge you for things already done to the vehicle. The car was dirty and the oil needed changing. Windshield cracked. Obviously it wasn’t inspect prior to our arrival. Tried to call them several time but no answer. We ended up paying about $600 for somebody else’s damage. Never again.

Make sure you get the person at desk to provide a signature when agreeing on something. They didn’t have the vehicle I reserved 6 months prior and put me in another vehicle saying the price remained the same when I asked. A person at the desk had me sign papers before seeing actual total because I was going off “price was the same”. When they handed me the receipt I asked them why it was so much more? They weren’t able to answer/solve the situation and to come back when car was returned. There was also several cars similar to what we rented in the parking lot. The price wasn’t the same and in fact was hundreds of dollars more. After disputing which took a month Budget still wouldn’t honor my initial rental total that was emailed to me upon purchase. Sending out a great big THANK YOU to Janice and her Manager at Rapid City, SD. THEY SAVED THE DAY! Or, shall we say the week!!! We rented a car from Budget at Denver Airport. We woke up the next morning to a flat tire, put enough air to get to Discount Tire who we called and said if fixable they would patch for no charge. Discount was so busy it took a few hours for them to check the tire, when they did they found it had already been repaired and the patch was not worthy & did not hold. The tire was unfixable. After spending 6 HOURS at Discount trying to call Budget, I tried to call & the service manager at Discount called, emailed, messaged, etc. NO ANSWER from Budget and NO HELP. Impossible to reach. They were ready to close Discount Tire when a customer & local from Rapid City
