Budget Car Rental

Absolute SCAM. Should be -5 stars. I’m actually shocked in 2025 that a major company branch can get away with this. I booked via kayak.com for an SUV. Got a price, email confirmation, total. When I arrive to check in and get the car, they show me the paperwork quickly. Thankfully I caught the daily rate listed, it was double my confirmed online reservation! The person at desk claimed ‘sorry I don’t have that price in my system’. At first I thought ok small error, you can fix it. Here’s my email confirmation, VERY clear. Instead they refused to help or adjust the price! They even pretended to call someone and said they can’t help. Completely illegal. Zero offer to help. So I stood there, like in the twilight zone, with all my bags and my wife anxiously ready to leave. Even funnier - the guy

I used budget to go on a family vacation. Customer service at front counter was good. I agreed to fill up car when it was returned. There was mention of additional insurance. 2 Weeks later I received a letter saying I had to pay $450.00 for clean up. I called the number on letter to dispute. I told them I was not paying for that when I did not agree plus the van was in good condition besides a little dog hair. They wanted an negotiation for $250. I suppose to be speaking with a supervisor. which had no customer service experience and no empty for the customer and was very rude and over talking me. I will never rent again from Budget.

I was told I was going to get a full refund instead I only got 2days of the rental and a coupon so I feel I was lied to by budget that I as a customer trusted im not happy with this type of service I feel cheap and budget i can't trust no more first time I witnessed an ant infested vehicle, dirty even buggers .vehicle with contract that belongs to another customer. If budget doesn't care about their reputation then I don't care either it was a nightmare and I never got to see my daughter. Never again will I rent a car at Budget from the airport location in Roanoke! First they gave me a car that was damaged with a broken wiper so I went back in. She switched the car for another one that had worse damage than the first one. Usually when I have rented cars they come out with you to inspect the car for damage and document it. Well all they said was take a picture myself. That didn’t sit well with me. On top of that the car was filthy inside and out. I had to clean the car before I could even use it. I called the customer service number and spoke to a nice man who documented everything bc I didn’t want to be charged for anything. The next day I noticed that the tire pressure for one of the tires was low. I looked to see if I could see anything in the tire but I couldn’t see any

Felt scammed!! I reserved a SUV online and in the check in they asked me to sign all the paperwork stuff (as usual) before they showed the car and handed me the keys. When I get to the car I noticed the car was in an accident see pictures. The gas tank lid was dangling!! The front passenger frame had a huge dent. They did not say anything about the car condition during check in. I went back and told the car situation and they pretended they were not aware of the car situation. How can you not aware such thing!!? I then asked for a replacement SUV and was told they don’t have any other SUV!!. They even refused to upgrade me to a truck and only offered me to replace it with a sedan (an old Altima) but for the same cost as SUV!!
