Budget Truck Rental

We use Budget truck all the time and love using them. unfortunately this time we had to use the one in Birmingham for a friend. We made the reservation a few days in advance, my friend went to pick up the truck that we put under her name and Angelia the manager was very unhelpful, rude and literally told us to go with the competition because she refuses to work around a payment issue. If you use Budget do not use the Birmingham Messer airport location. They are lazy and ignorant.

Worst company ever. Made a reservation for a 26 foot truck 4 days in advance. I was moving my stuff out of a storage unit in Florida. Drove almost 600 miles to pick the truck up and they don’t have it. I then told them I would just cancel this reservation and go to Uhaul to get a truck since they did not have the truck I reserved, they proceeded to tell me it would be a 150.00 cancellation fee. What? I make a reservation for a truck, get there to pick it up and you don’t have it and you want to charge me 150.00. Stay away from this company.

Do not rent from budget. They are cheap for a reason. We rented a truck and bar trailer from them for a move. When we got home to load we found the trailer was messed up. After reporting it they came out to repair it. Unable to repair it they replaced it delaying our departure over a day. Also we were told a 16 foot trailer was good for a 2 bedroom apartment. Turns out it wasn’t so we had to rent a second truck to move. When we finished the move I called to let them know our problems and they had in their notes we had loaded a vehicle overloaded with belongings which caused the trailer problems. We didn’t even have a vehicle on the trailer until we got the new one delivered. They lie to cover their mistakes and can’t be trusted. We will never use them again and I suggest no one else does e

THEY DON'T INSPECT THEIR VEHICLES STAY AWAY!!! This was the worst experience that I have ever had with a company ever. I didn't believe the horror stories until I experienced it myself. Used their truck rental to move to Colorado over the summer. made it 20 minutes out of Birmingham then the truck broke down, took them 4 hours to send someone out to get it fixed. once we got back on the road it broke down again 10 minutes later. After another 5 hours of waiting on the side of the road in 95 degree weather for them to send someone out to "fix," another issue. Also they didn't bring any water we requested for us or my dog who was overheating. Dropping off was very difficult we called customer service and they said it was a box but we looked around the parking lot and by the Budget building and did not see one. He suggested we coming back in morning (which wasn’t an option) or drop off at Airport location. We went to Airport location and they stated they could not take it and that we had to go back to other drop off location. They made it frustrating to rent from them every since we got it they system declined our cards with had plenty of money on it! While we had to drive back and forth to the locations that was more gas getting eaten up and I know they will try to charge us but I’m going to put in complaint in the morning 4/23/18 and see if they won’t trip because this was too much to deal with!
