Prepare for interrogation. Even if you have a valid passport and clearly state your plans, you very well might be interrogated and searched like I was. It was ridiculous. I have a best friend and very close family member whom I visit in Winnipeg. I was denied entry into twice once in March and April. I felt like I was treated like a criminal and not very respectful after having visited before back in February. But learned that I had too much stuff and not knowing how long I was going to visit. Being this was my only third time to visit my boyfriend and best friend learned that I needed lots of document's and I was detained for over 3 hours being interrogated. But I just got back from my birthday vacation from visiting my boyfriend in Winnipeg for 17 days had a great time thanks to the different port of entry for giving visitors visa. My husband and I have been to about 20 countries, but our recent trip into Canada was our first border crossing since Covid. We had a real learning curve on technology additions to the process. John at this crossing went way above what was expected or required to make our journey easier. He, as well as the other staff, were pleasant and helpful. John, you are the best border patrol officer we have met in any country to date. Thanks to you and the rest of the staff!
