Captain's Quarters

Nice older restored home on the bank of the Lower Mountain fork river. Sleeps 10 with 4 separate bedrooms. One bedroom with two beds is actually a passage to another bedroom, probably converted garage. It's like sleeping in a hallway with people passing through. One side by side refrigerator in the kitchen is not enough food storage for this many people. Plan on bringing coolers with ice. Access to the river and deck, but very steep walkway and set of stairs. We found it very difficult to carry our canoes and kayaks back up to the house.

While this is a Quaint cottage type home, that was Very clean, spacious, and cozy, I can’t give it 5 stars. There are two bathrooms, but the guest bath was very small - uncomfortably small, and I’m a medium size female. If you’re going with multi families, the only other bathroom that is more spacious (MUCH more spacious) is located in the master bedroom. When we stayed, it felt like an invasion of privacy to ask to use that bath connected to the bedroom one fam stayed in. Especially if the family was sleeping in, (they have a small child we didn’t want to wake) we had a line waiting to use the hall closet bath. We've stayed here several times and always enjoy it. The river is gorgeous and you have direct access. We use it as a jumping off point for fishing days on the Glover River as well.

Actually stayed at Fisherman, right next to Captains. Great place, awesome views

Very secluded just what we wanted. Very good place to stay. Clean and quiet. We had deer watching us cook breakfast.
