We had a great experience at Car City! Eddie was great to work with and there was no pressure at all. He helped us find the perfect car for our daughter, and she absolutely loves it. Everyone working there was so nice and friendly and any office that has a dog just makes the experience even better. We would definitely recommend Car City to anyone looking for a used car at a fair price.

Told them I needed a good reliable car after the first one I applied for was denied I got a Subaru Impreza from them. I was told they just got it and it was a good car. Had it 3 weeks before the heat stopped working. Took it into a shop. Turns out it's got a blown head gasket and massive damage from all the oil that was in the coolant. The extended warranty company is denying it as a pre-existing. After a few phone calls with Eddie they said to give them a few days and he was going to get it taken care of. I haven't heard from them since. Find a more trustworthy dealership. They also ran my credit 5 times for 2 applications so that's also destroyed

Absolutely amazing, made accommodations for my budget. And absolute props to the team for cleaning the seats and the inside. 10/10 amazing service Chris was my salesman and he worked wonders props.

I am extremely disappointed & dissatisfied with my experience at Car City in Des Moines Iowa off of Merle Rd for this cars sale on Jan 8th 2026, and I feel compelled to warn other Consumers about their deeply unprofessional and unethical business practices. At the time of purchase, both the owner Darby and the salesperson explicitly represented that a second key was included and assured me it would be sent to me right away. Afterwards that the money was sent and this representation being a key factor in my decision to move forward with the purchase. What followed was a frustrating series of excuses, contradictions, and outright fabrications. Here is the last text message I wrote to Eddie the car salesman. I think it summarizes my experience with Car City well after the car I bought showed significant mechanical problems on the way home from the dealership. Dealership owner told me they would not help at all with the broken part. Only would do the install. Here is my response to that. Disappointed, if your mechanic is not catching these big problems I dont know if I can trust them to fix it properly. If he did and you guys knew it was broken and didnt disclose the information, I dont know if I can trust you guys. In the end of the day you didnt keep your word. I would not tell people any longer that you guys take care of your clients and that you make things right. You sold me a broken car telling me its in good mechanical or
