I pulled up to The Car Doctor LLC in the Hamptons with my 2006 Bentley coughing like it had a three-pack-a-day habit. Ryan took one listen, smiled, and said, Don’t worry, Doc’s got her. Two days later she’s purring sweeter than the day she rolled off the line—no rattles, no smoke, just pure bliss. Look, everybody’s quick to scream that mechanics rip you off, and yeah, some do. But I swear, it’s just as easy—no, easier—to take advantage of a good mechanic. People roll in with sob stories, demand discounts, pay late, or flat-out try to sneak out on the bill. Ryan never flinches. He quotes fair, does the work right the first time, no upselling, no surprise fees, nothing. I can’t thank Ryan and the team enough for their work on our classic cars. You get what you pay for with these guys. While the work is by no means cheap or affordable, it’s some of the most thorough and proactive I’ve ever encountered. Ryan has done exhaustive work on both my 1996 g wagon and 1990 defender. I appreciate his attention to detail. This is our second season with Car Doctor and won’t be our last.

Ryan is a nice guy. He is dedicated to his profession and appears to be a fan (of car history, heritage and getting things correct)as well. Car Doctor is by no means cheap and a bit pricey. But in my 56 years of being vertical, one generally gets what they pay for. Shop is beautiful and clean with an auto-based hospital setting with stethoscopes, IV bags and go-cart type buggies custom ambulances beautifully painted and positioned in background. There is even a show bar with ornamental bottles of liquor so one appreciates or could hypothetically relax with a drink since it is an Emergency Room so to speak but for your 2nd best friend ( I'm thinking doggie first ). One could always get a price first so know what you are in for. But all in all, Car Doctor is very detail orientated so

I just had my land cruiser (yes a 2000 original) with 110,000 miles serviced at Car Doctor. My car died en route back to NYC from the Hamptons over Thanksgiving weekend. We brought it here as it was the closest place to where our car died. Ryan took care of us from the minute the car arrived. He advised us as to how best to proceed and we trusted him. The car is running beautifully and I trust that he will continue to service us until as we want to keep this oldie but goodie on the road! He deals with tip top high end foreign cars but is happy to take care of all models. Highly recommend.
