CAR RENTAL CAFE

Very disappointing experience. After I returned the car, they claimed there was a small scratch and kept my $500 deposit. I was then sent a bill for over $1,300 for what appears, based on the photos they provided, to be a minor scratch. The amount being claimed feels completely disproportionate to the damage shown. I tried contacting them multiple times, but the manager never returned my calls or responded to my messages. Based on how this situation has been handled, I would not recommend this rental company.

Tis company is the quintessential "Bait and Switch" fraudster that hides behind online booking apps to blame their ridiculous fees above their stated and booked rate online. The employees were rude and looked like criminals..... and their airport shuttle is a rideshare that took over 45 minutes to arrive. The only reason I gave them 1 star is because they actually had cars to rent. You are better off renting from a reputable company in the SanDiego airport,.... it will cost you less and you will deal with professional customer service trained employees.....

I had a terrible experience with this car rental company and would never recommend them to anyone. They completely scammed us with a bait-and-switch tactic—what was supposed to be a reasonable rental ended up costing us $380 more than the original quote. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, making the entire process even more frustrating. To top it all off, the car we received was not cleaned before being handed over with food under the seats and left behind belongings. This company is dishonest and unprofessional—avoid at all costs.

Horrible experience. Didn't have the car we reserved. Upsold us a different car and then gave us keys for a worse car which we would have taken if we didn't know any better. Scum on earth company.

We had a bit of a weird experience at the outset. We were unexpectedly redirected to Car Rental Cafe by Fox Car Rental at San Diego Airport. We had a standing 2-month reservation [January-February 2025] with Fox. Upon arrival at Fox we were shoveled off to this off airport property rental car company, Car Rental Cafe in Little Italy. Shuttle service was provided. Not sure of the business relationship between Fox and Car Rental Cafe, but the way we were redirected by Fox was weird. That’s another story. As for Car Rental Cafe they basically performed well in all respects. Key points: they met the price quote provided by Fox; they delivered a new low mileage clean car to us that worked flawlessly; they were available and transparent to deal with [when we considered returning the car early t
