Dont ever bring your car here this my first time using car-x I will never use them again, just stay with pep boys. I made and appointment for friday 730 am but I Drop my car off Thursday night I called them Friday Afternoon they told me they won’t be able to look at my car till Saturday morning so I called Saturday morning. They told me they don’t see my appointment request and I had to re-give them my information and then he said they was gonna check it Sunday it is currently Sunday afternoon and they still have not looked at my car. this is the worst mechanic place I ever been to in my life

I want to thank Steve at Car-X for showing true professionalism at all times, and for being patient, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. Today was literally a snowstorm, and he was multitasking while still making sure everyone who walked through the door was taken care of — especially me. I walked in explaining my car issues, and the first thing he said was, “I got you, no worries! We’ll look at everything and take care of you.” In the middle of this weather, those words meant so much. I can’t explain how thankful, grateful, and relieved I was. They had my car fixed within an hour, and the service was exceptional. Thank you again, Steve and the Car-X team, for everything you do. People like me truly appreciate you — especially in our community.

11/08/‘25 *** I highly recommend this Car-X on 7424 S Stony Island. My warranty insurer sent me here for my new car inspection concerns. The teamwork of receptionist April and expert mechanic Travis was excellent. They really advocated for me with the Silver Rock insurance company and got my claim approved. This shop is neat with cool, cozy accommodations while you wait and they were fast. On top of that the out of pocket cost was very bare minimal compared to another shop cost quote. I will definitely patronize them again and again for my auto needs. Thanks Travis and anyone else who handled my car’s process. I’m very happy and satisfied with the service I received.

This particular Car X is AMAZING. The manager Travis is awesome. Steve, Mr. Bernard, and Rob are all exceptional and experienced in not only car care but customer services as well... I have been coming here for ten years or more and I have never experienced a negative attitude, or a bad behavior from any if these guys. Even the newest addition Ms. April is also an asset to the team. I appreciate the environment as well as the cleanliness of the facility. If Travis was to ever leave, I would have to follow him because I trust, appreciate, and simply adire his genuine kindness...

I dropped my car off at 10 am, 30 minutes before my appointment. I did not receive a call at all. I called them at 4pm, I was told I don't have a reservation even though.... I called last night and set my reservation I also find out my car was not serviced......I am told my car is going to get serviced ASAP due to the 7 hour delay. Car is just now getting drained and they didn't even check if they had the filter for my fuel pump and now I'm waiting on them to get the filter. Worst experience, their oil change coupon does not make it worth it. This type of service is honestly sad. I was not offered any type of discount even though my car was sitting here. Id recommend going anywhere else in Chicago Land.
