Chalmers Ford Collision Center

I took my Ford Edge to get the hood replaced due to a gate hitting it. The vehicle was dropped off on October 27 and was not ready till November 24 due to part delays and Ford scratching other medal parts which they fixed. During this almost month in the shop they very rarely called with updates and if we called and they didn't have a update they would tell us "they will find out and call us back" and not call. Once the vehicle was ready, looking over it I found a nice 3 inch scratch on it. Told them about it and after to looking over photo that showed no scratch there, they stated they would fix it. Below are the before and after photos. They just put paint over it and you can still see the scratch mark.

We took our vehicle to be worked on. A rear passenger door was what we were told needed to be replaced after someone backed into it. Five weeks later we were finally able to pick up my vehicle. It looks good. At first we thought my vehicle had been driven an additional 500+ miles due to the paperwork handed to us when we picked up my vehicle. It was explained to us that an odometer reading (picture) was taken for the estimate. When we dropped off the vehicle later, the odometer numbers were not updated for the paperwork so when we picked up the vehicle it showed more mileage than we thought it should. However, my husband insists we weren’t given an estimate( no paperwork was given to us) and no picture was taken of the odometer when we took the vehicle to be looked at.

PROS: The body shop work was good. CONS: When I picked my truck up, the cable for the spare was hanging completely down. When I asked about it, I was told they didn’t have the tool to fix it (despite being a collision center). I was instructed to go to Jiffy Lube to have it fixed. I drove down the street with the cable hanging to Midas where they just took the jack out of the back, took the tire out of the bed, and pulled up the tire and cable in about 15 minutes. Both of us were perplexed about how a body shop couldn’t fix a spare. Also, in the 8 weeks my car was in the shop, Most of my texts either went completely unanswered or were answered days later. The customer service was very poor. I never felt like I had an advocate working for excellence. These issues undermined my conf

I took my mustang in to have damage worked on two weeks ago. James looked at everything including the driver's side door panel which he told me needed to be replaced. I was led to believe that would be part of the job. The body work looks fantastic . However, the door panel was not taken care of. I have not heard anything more on my door panel that I wanted fixed. I am still hopeful that I will hear from the dealership.

Chalmers Body Shop, as is the Chalmers Ford dealership, was fantastic. The estimate for my repair was done promptly and accurately. I was kept in the loop the entire time by Laura. They even delivered my vehicle when it was done! Bravo Chalmers!
