Chartwell Rosedale Retirement Residence

I would love to give more than 5 starts to Chartwell Rosedale senior home in Brockville! From the first email correspondence with Jeff advocating for her while our step mother was in the hospital all the way to move in day for her and beyond, has been exceptional! When we met Krystal and then Josh, we knew that our step mother was going to feel comfortable there When she walked into her new room, she said “I’m home “. Best comment ever Post move in, Krystal has been so very supportive to us. The staff are wonderful and that starts from her. She is caring and leads by example. The residence is beautiful and our step mom seems to be fitting right in which is very comforting as we are 5 hours away. Thank you to the great staff from Chartwell Rosedale! I will start by saying that this review is long overdue, but still very valid. In late 2022, our family was faced with the reality that our parents were not living as comfortably and securely as we had hoped, living on their own. They were very reluctant to make the move to a retirement community, but immediately after touring Rosedale and meeting a few of the staff - they became comfortable that it was the right decision. As a minister my mom spent a lot of time visiting a number of retirement residences in and around the Brockville area. When my father passed away, she decided that she could no longer manage living in her home by herself. She was absolutely certain that the best retirement residence in the area was Rosedale. Throughout her stay there, she has really loved living there. The staff has always been caring and she has had nothing but good things to say about her accommodations and the food. Originally, I had expected my mom to have difficulty with the transition, but she seemed to be at home almost right away. This was especially true after she met a new “man-friend”. In late August of this year, my brothers and I faced a very difficult decision that many families face; our 93 year old mom was living on her own, but it was clear to us, Mom could no longer continue to live in her apartment. When we approached the idea of moving her to a "home" our mom's first reaction, was a strong NO. NO WAY, I am not ready!!! But, my brother and his family took our mom to the Rosedale for a visit. Within 24 hours, our mom's tune had changed. She quickly noticed that the Rosedale was clean, the food was terrific, the rooms were a decent size and most importantly the staff was friendly and understanding. And mom noticed that the residences looked happy. She was sold. It's been over a month since she moved in and as she told me, she is very happy living at The Rosedale.

My mom recently moved into Rosedale. It’s really a new chapter in her great life. And like any big change in life, or move, it can be stressful. The things that are important to her are feeling safe and cared for, a positive, lovely environment, great food, fun activities, and kind and patient staff. Rosedale has simply surpassed all of our expectations. My brother and I have been there regularly to visit, join my mom for meals, and even for some of the activities. The staff are always so positive and wonderful. This helped to put us at ease as this was a big change in our lives too. My mom is a “foodie”. My mom loves the food, and even the presentation shows the thought and care that is put in. It’s so lovely to sit outside in the beautiful garden and enjoy the gorgeous view of the r
