Costco Tire Service Center

I purchased new tires which included free tire rotations. I drive a Toyota Camry. The wheel torque is 76 ft lbs. After the previous two rotations, multiple lug studs & lug nuts were stripped with the seat of the lug nuts ground off. A sure sign of an eager tire technician going full bore with an impact wrench set to about 150 ft lbs. I replaced the damaged studs and lug nuts myself. A bit of a task pulling the caliper off and driving out the stripped stud & seating a new stud. I would shop elsewhere for tires. I doubt I will ever return for a "free" tire rotation as it's not worth the damage to my car. Just FYI.

Easy process, so far they had to order my tires both times. 3-5 days. You set up an appointment and shop while you wait. They claim great road Hazzard repair/replacement. I have not had to use it yet.

Great product and service. Very stiff corporate atmosphere. Typically extremely busy & there never seem to be enough employees at the desk

This is a little long story, but I feel the need to post this for feedback. I had a terrible experience with the Costco tire center today. I'd ordered 2 new front tires for my Corvette. Costco has the best price by far on the brand & type of tire I want. These cars have taller, wider tires on the rear. Everyone knows that on a car like this, you go through rear tires faster than fronts. I'm at a point in the cycle that I need new fronts and still have over half of the tread left on the rears to burn off this summer. Evidently, it's Costco "policy" if you only buy 2 tires they HAVE to be put on the rear unless your current rears measure at least 8 out of 10. That's basically brand new. To make a long story short, Costco REFUSED to put the 2 tires on that I special ordered & paid for, unless

"Free tire rotation" with purchase of tires but jokes on you because they will find every excuse not rotate your tires for "safety reasons." And then you mention warranty to replace them if they won't rotate and surprise surprise, don't meet the requirements.
