Anyone who knows me, knows how much I hate buying cars. They also know that I rarely write reviews. Despite that, my recent purchase from Dan Martin's Auto Depot makes me what to share my experience. Our 1998 V70 served us well for the past 20 years, but had some issues that would prevent it from passing NYS inspection. I decided to look at possible replacements. Initially, I was thinking about picking up a 2-3 year old car, but wasn’t crazy about the current styles. Looking on-line, I happened upon a 2007 V70 at Dan Martin's that looked like it checked all of the boxes. The mileage was low for its age, the condition seemed perfect, it appeared to be well maintained, and the long roof wagon provided lots of room for our two dogs. I would give Peter six stars if I could. My wife and I were in a hurry to replace our car, which had just died. After searching the internet I placed a couple of exploratory phone calls, looking for a used Volvo. Only Peter responded promptly. He was courteous, knowledgeable and professional, never pushy. He explained that Dan Martin's does not deal in financing, but refers people to credit unions - this avoids the backroom tricks associated with used car dealerships. After a number of texts and phone calls we arranged to meet the next day to test drive a 2007 Volvo that he had recently polished up and put on the market. I came across Dan Martin's Auto during a drive from out of state to NYC when my recently purchased, higher-mileage Volvo XC90 suddenly started having issues (limp-mode kicked in from cylinder misfire, blown spark plug and bad coil). Peter and his tech took my car in late in the day (on a Saturday too) and repaired the car so quickly, and he gave some really helpful advice for caring for a Volvo with this high of mileage too (140k+). I highly recommend him and his team, especially for any Volvo owner.

I gotta say, I really dislike having to buy a car and I despise most car dealerships. But this experience was second to none. Peter offered a great vehicle at a price I felt comfortable with. The car had extensive repairs done in their shop and I couldn't be more pleased with it. He made the process quick and easy for me as well. He was very genuine and knowledgeable with absolutely no pressure to buy anything. I was even able to negotiate with him on the price. I bought a 2007 Saab at 96000 miles and it is now at 106000 with no issues at all. Peter (owner of Dan Martin's) went above and beyond before the sale to meet me out of business hours and has been fully responsive and helpful since. An incredibly positive experience.
