I'd been having trouble with my transmission for a few weeks and was referred to James by my mechanic. Couldn't have been happier with my experience. They were timely, reasonable, and honest, all before the big snow storm. 5/5 today and tomorrow!

On a three-week trip from Texas heading for Maine in a small diesel-engine motor home built on a Mercedes Benz 3500 van chassis. Passing Louisville, the engine was fine but lost all power to the wheels (on I-264 in heavy traffic!) Coasted to the shoulder. Mercedes dealer couldn't even look at it for weeks, so was towed to Discount Transmissions. They correctly diagnosed the very unusual problem (trans. oil cooler failure allowing oil and coolant to mix), sourced a replacement tansmission and torque converter with a 5-year nationwide warranty, and performed the removal/installation. They test-drove it three times to ensure everything was right. I just drove it home (2 1/2 days, mostly on Interstates), and it runs like new. On top of the fine mechanical work, they cleaned it! Dropped my truck off after hours, they checked it out and called me with the price and options , super nice and knowledgeable shop! While they were installing my rebuilt transmission they found an issue with an O2 sensor called and offered to make repair at a reasonable price , picked up my truck and so far she is running great ! This place is the real deal if you need transmission work trust them to take care of it!
