Dollar Car Rental - Philadelphia International Airport

We rented a car for a PA holiday vacation. On our third day we were driving on the hwy to a ski resort and a truck in front of us had some sort of steel roofing parts not secured enough. One of the parts blew into our windshield breaking it into pieces. We stopped on the hwy shoulder and called 911 at about 12:05pm. We called Dollar at around 12:15pm and after many phone calls and failed promises to help, a tow truck showed up and a Lyft at around 5pm. We had to ride 1 hour away to get a replacement car and finally made it to our Airbnb at 7:30pm. Dollar failed to help us right away. We could not get into the back seat of the car because the wind was blowing pieces of glass all over the car. Dollar knew that we were on the highway and did not send help right away. I rented a vehicle from Dollar rent a car from Philadelphia airport online and needed there most reasonable vehicle for this trip. I picked the mystery/dealers choice option. When I got there had to wait in a little line but was taken care of within10 minutes even though they were busy. Came up to the counter with a smile on my face when I was greeted and ask why I was smiling my response was excited to see my mystery car I rented. Expecting to receive some small beat up price of garage that I have received at other rental places before but was pleasantly surprised at the brand new Kia mini van with 3000 miles and all the bells and whistles. Dollar/Thrifty, very busy when we arrived to pick the rental car - however we didn't have to wait to long approx 15mins. All staff were polite and friendly whist we waited before, Carmen, took my details. She was very professional explaining the procedures for renting and additional local taxes. We were allocated our car which was a nice little upgrade on what we'd originally booked. Would definitely recommend.

Booked Dollar and checked-in online. Arrived at PHL and waited for a Dollar shuttle for 45 minutes. Did not realize that they were co-located with Hertz (and the Hertz shuttles did not carry the Dollar branding). Finally got on a Dollar shuttle which took us to the Hertz counter. 30 minute wait unless we paid an additional $28 + tax to “skip the line” (so the on-line check-in did nothing!). Terrible service and while waiting for the shuttle I called Dollar Customer Service who ALSO did not bother to tell me to board a Hertz shuttle. DO NOT RENT DOLLAR IN PHILLY!

The WORST customer service and car rental experience ever! I rent a car almost every week due to my travels and this Dollar location is the worst location I rented from. Not only is it crazy expensive but instead of the car serving me - I served the car the entire time I rented it. First - it was dirty. I had to clean it myself. Second, one of the tires on the vehicle lost air EVERY SINGLE DAY. I called roadside assistance and they told me to get it checked and if anything was wrong, they would reimburse me. I had the tire checked multiple times and no one could find anything wrong with it. But it lost air every day - every morning, I would wake up to a deflated tire, and would have to risk my safety and security to take it to a place to get the tire checked and pumped with air.
