Dollar Rent A Car

EDIT: Everything was fine until checkout. Then there was a problem with price/gallon, days of actual rental, and delays in review of the car's condition. I am working to resolve these, but until then 3-stars is generous. ADDED: After exchanging at least 6 emails with Dollar, Thrifty & Hertz, I got the receipt and they decided to refund the entire half-tank refill charge ($73+). They also acknowledge my early return, and reduced the rental charge. from 4 days to 3 days and 1 hour. So I've upped my rating by one-star. They still have the "damage deposit" so when that is returned, I'll revisit this review.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with the rental company! I travel 250+ days a year and I rent a car for every trip, so I decided to try Dollar because I was flying into El Paso TX. Not only did I have to wait 3 1/2 hours for my car but the manager was so rude and condescending! He seems like he hates his job and has a god like complex. I don’t know if I will ever use them again, unless someone reaches out and rectifies my last experience!

I reserved a rental vehicle and completed the check-in process, but upon arrival I was not informed that no vehicles were available. I was told the wait would be about an hour, and I am still waiting beyond that timeframe. I asked if they were here and just dirty which I would of gladly accepted. During the interaction, the desk representative made an inappropriate remark replying “what do people think I'm lying”, which was both unprofessional and unacceptable. I have scheduled appointments and meetings that I will now miss due to this delay. No solutions, compensation, or meaningful effort to resolve the situation were offered — only that someone would call me later. Dollar car rental is a horrible company, that failed to honor a rental agreement. The policy that was disclosed to me was that if I didnt have a credit card, they would put a $500 hold on my debit card which I was fine with. I showed up and the desk agent told me that if I didnt have a credit card I would need a plane ticket to rent a car. This obscure policy was never disclosed to me at the time of rental, he said I would need to contact expedia for a refund. Expedia tried to call them to confirm. They did not pick up. Expedia opened a ticket, then they later replied and said they couldn't issue a refund that I needed to contact dollar car rental. Im out two Uber fees to and from their airport, and put the miles on my truck to make a businrss trip, and now I am fighting both companies jus

Inquired about extending the rental agreement by one day. The representative at the airport was more interested in pushing the problem away rather than solving it. Then the customer service number I was referred which was allegedly listed on the bottom of my printed contract was equally not helpful. As the name suggests, you get what you pay for. Thank you to your customer service rep on your 1 800 line who thought changing his name to a “Pedro” was appropriate and professional. I might suggest changing your accent in order to make your First grade insult more convincing!
