Don's was my mechanic from 1986 until 2004 when I move away from Vero. Don serviced my VW Rabbit and my two Honda Accords. He also was the mechanic for my parents Nissan and Honda cars. I'm so thrilled to see Don's is still in business and getting rave reviews to this day. Don was always fair in price repairs and was good about helping with figuring out what repair could be put off and what really needed to be addressed immediately if time and money were factors. Honest mechanics are hard to come by. Don's Import Auto Service is one of the rare breeds of excellent, honest auto repair shops in Vero.
I've read this has happened with multiple other people. We have been bringing our vehicle there since they opened, point being they know the vehicle. We brought it in because occasionally it would not shift out of second gear. We were told it was a because the coolant was leaking therefore forcing it into "limp mode". The leak had been an issue for years but the leak wasn't major and we would just add coolant in time to time and was fine. $3800 later it did not fix the problem. After about a month of rental cars they came back and said they think it's the main computer for another $5,000 but they couldn't guarantee that was the problem. We said no thank you we will just pay for the coolant system even though we didn't think we should have to. They then tried to charge us another $1,200 in

The only reason for which I put 4 stars is your cooperation with the garbage MIKE'S WRECKER SERVICE company, with whom we had to sue, because when delivered to the DON'S they broke our bumper. If you hadn't recommended my husband this unreliable company where the driver is unprofessional and the woman owner constantly yells at customers, we wouldn't have gotten into this situation. This woman almost destroyed the reputation of her father's once successful business with her yelling. I know you don't need her to destroy your as well ! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!! I brought my 2011 Volkswagen GTI that was throwing randomly a P0341 code(Camshaft position sensor) The car was running and driving perfectly, only issue when that code popped out was a little missfire. Once the code was erased with a simple diagnostic tool, the car was running and driving back to normal. After leaving the car there for 2 days they called me stating they weren't able to trigger the issue and told me that the car was perfectly fine. I went to pick up my car, test drove around the block and immediately the code popped up again, this made me think that the car was never checked in the first place but still had a charge for $135.00 diagnostic. I had to fire them, after many years of relying on and trusting them. Don's used to be a great auto shop. They had great work and customer service attention was stellar. They were so great to us, historically, that I didn't mind paying a premium at times for stuff I know I could have gotten for less (with cheaper parts, to be clear) elsewhere. Don sold the business several years back, and I was hoping the same approach to those with newer Porsches, BMWs, and Bentleys, and those like me with a used Jeep GC, would still be treated the same, at least when it came to showing respect to customers. Unfortunately, not too long ago, they charged me something like $175 TWICE for the same diagnostic machine check for the SAME problem. I would not have minded this so much IF THEY ACTUALLY FOUND WHAT
