Economy Rent A Car

Read the reviews!! Rent elsewhere!! This place is NOT located at SAN rental car off-site where the free shuttle takes you… it’s another 1.2 miles away ($25 cab fare). They refused to send a Lyft as I didn’t have a US phone number. One star because I can’t give zero stars!! I booked thru Hotwire and expected a care for a week for about $200 - instead it cost $300 plus I had to uber to and from their location. Was only told on pickup that I could not leave the state of California (why? And that’s no where in the reservations?!) Do not rent here - read the other reviews: hard upsells especially on insurance and for locals and once you’re here, you have no other options! DO NOT RENT HERE! Actual Car was fine…

Julia our car rental agent was amazing! She was such a sweet person and super helpful. She went above and beyond for us and made car swap easy. The service was fast and hassle free. Would definitely recommend this car rental place. Not to mention, the prices were a lot cheaper than the ones at the airport. Note: their shuttles only run while they are open and last shuttle goes out 30 min before closing.

Our experience with Economy was Awesome. We were picked up within 15 minutes of our arrival at the car Rental Center in an Uber, a very nice guy. Then, we were taken to Economy To get our car it was very smooth getting our car and it was a pretty nice car. When we returned Sunday morning left the car, we were picked up by a very nice gentleman Uber. He took us directly to Alaska Airlines. I would say they are a great place to rent from.They did us right.

I know this place has a lot of bad reviews, but I had a good experience for the price I paid. Yes, I had to wait about 30 minutes to get picked up (by their wonderful driver, Jesus) and taken to their lot. No, it's not a counter at the airport, but it's very close by. I have my own insurance coverage for rentals, and after showing them that, they didn't pressure me at all to pay for theirs. It was a little less formal than other places, but the agent was very friendly. It was after hours when we returned the car, and we had to Uber back to the airport for $20. However, I paid $47 for a three day rental, so it was worth it. I was a little worried based on the causal interaction, the bad reviews, and the fact I had to put down a $200 deposit on my card. Julie was very helpful and professional. The car was clean, new and easy to pick up and drop off. The shuttle to the airport was comfortable and very efficient. I will definitely use this company for all my car rental needs in the future!
