Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Houghton County Memorial Airport (CMX)

Excellent customer service at the U P Airport. Just make sure when you rent a car from any company you check it over and take photos of any damage to cover yourself

We arrived many hours behind schedule due to weather delays and we were greeted by a friendly and helpful associate who suppler me with a great vehicle to rent for the weekend. I was very happy with the service and the patience to wait for our much delayed arrival to fulfill the reservation.

It looks like a lot of other reviewers have had their res cancelled last minute, which is totally devastating and I'm sorry! I just came to review based on my recent experience which was actually really positive! The only reason I'm reviewing is because typical rental experiences are not good so I had to share my two cents -- I rented the car online (via a 3rd party platform) and it was available and clean and ready for me when I landed and the guy at the desk working was super nice! Friendly service, hardly no wait at the counter....Easy-peasy one-room airport -- Was super simple with pick up and drop off!

More than one very bad experience here at this place they have excuses for everything, including lack of communication and information and transparency and you will be repeatedly told it’s OK by the desk person when clearly it’s not. Very smug attitude from Desk staff. I had to ask multiple times for information in writing on the $500 hold that they’ll do on your rental in addition to rental fee. Nowhere is it posted online for your rental or at the Desk beware and they think “it’s ok”.

I recently had a reservation canceled (by an employee at this location) while I was on my flight to my destination. I understand that their car inventory was limited, but letting me know *at the counter* that my reservation was cancelled was so frustrating. It was very difficult to arrange alternate transportation. I’m in a part of the country that doesn’t have public transit, Uber, and only one taxi service, so I was stranded. I’ve been very loyal to enterprise; I’ve always received good service. But this is so frustrating that I will probably start using a different company. I would’ve driven my car from home to my destination if I knew enterprise was going to be this unreliable.
