Excel Truck Group - Roanoke

I guess that if you’re going to break down, it’s good to do it where there is a highly reputable service facility within striking distance to call on. We needed to be towed off of I-81 with a definite Air Brake issue in our 40’ Winnebago Diesel Pusher. Brown’s Towing was summoned; they arrived like they were out patrolling (it was that quick!) and Ethan hooked us up and brought us to the Excel Truck Group in Roanoke. There we were met by Zoe (who stayed a bit later knowing we were coming in) and he preliminarily set us up for the next morning. He allowed us to stay in the lot overnight, so that the motorhome was able to be kept running (generator) and all the vegetables, etc. in the fridge were happy. Had to have my motorhome towed and Excel Truck Group was really great. Zoe (the service manager) was easy to work with and provided excellent customer service. Excel got right to work on my motorhome, found the issues, fixed them and got me back on the road. Even plugged it up for me to keep my batteries charged. That's what I call going above and beyond!

Broke down on I 81 southbound and needed a tow, 1 hour later after coachnet found a tow for $3k that would come the next day I called Excel Trucking in Roanoke VA. They suggested Brown Towing. Brown showed up in 1 hour and hooked me up and dropped me at Excel all within 4 hours for $1,8k Driver EB was great and even dropped my motorhome within feet of full hook-ups at the Excel medium duty shop. The next morning foreman Zoe and tech Spence took over and within 2 hours had the problem diagnosed and parts ordered. Parts arrived at noon the next day and Spence dove in. The next day he came in early and finished the job by noon. Zoe even provided suggestions on places to eat and sights to see.. All three guys get 5 stars from me and represented thier respective companies in a efficient prof

Highly recommend this group for service of motorhomes! Our family was traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway on a recent fall break trip and noticed our Class C Ford E-450 based motor home running rough and throwing a check code as we approached Roanoke. We quickly got search and got in touch with local Ford dealers, none of which were able to service our rig. Thankfully, one recommended the folks at Excel. Zoe and his team were gone for the day already, but the main reception got us lined up for a 7am appointment. Zoe greeted us the next morning, got us squared away and even gave breakfast and hiking recommendations the kids would enjoy, while Bill P got to work fixing our RV. I have to be as fair as possible. I got in at 0700. Finished by noon. Nice folks. Needed a battery and an airline fitting. $1516. Horrendously expensive. $430 diagnostic fee, $400 for one battery, and $212hr. No surprise these places are called stealerships.
