Farmers Repair Inc

We took our son’s truck over to have his transmission checked out. It took a week for them to even look at it. They couldn’t tell us what was wrong with it just said it needs rebuilt. I personally wanted to know why. But never got a real answer of what was going on or why it needed rebuilt. So we picked it up and took it back home to have a real shop check it out. What kind of shop that is supposed to specialize in 1 thing can’t tell it’s custom what is wrong with the transmission or can’t explain why it needs rebuilt.

I am writing to formally complain about the unfair and unprofessional treatment I experienced at Farmers Repair Inc in Whitewater Kansas regarding repairs on my vehicle, which were supposed to be covered under my extended warranty. The mechanic Trent charged me $312.50 for "being on the phone with the warranty company for 3 hours," which is unreasonable and unjustified. He could not clearly explain what the warranty would not cover other than the oil and sales tax, and simply stated that I had a "sorry warranty" and needed to "take ownership" for choosing it. This behavior was unprofessional and condescending. Firstly, the only service you provided was towing my car. In return, you charged me $312 for a single phone call, which you justified by comparing it to a lawyer's or doctor's hourly fee. You cannot compare your services to those of a doctor or lawyer, reputable professionals are transparent about their fees from the outset. When I decided to handle the situation myself, you suddenly presented this $479.00 charge. It's clear you intended to take advantage, and I won't support dishonest business practices. Really great group of people who take a lot of pride in everything they do. They all do really great work and are very helpful. I will always take any of my vehicles to them. It is a lengthy drive for me but very much worth it knowing that a great group of people will be working on my vehicle. Thank you guys for such a great job. Ken
