For over 30 years, Hayat at Faster Auto Service has been my go-to mechanic. First, I came here because the car had narrowly failed at a test only place. I saw on this shop's website that they had a free retest. So I ask him and he says no, they don't. Uh, okay. Might want to update website then. I wait for him to finish previous car and then he starts on mine. Comes back and says the aftermarket manifold/catalytic I put on it was the wrong one for my engine test group. Almost had a heart attack. Went to work and double checked on the CARB website: the cat is correct for my engine. Conclusion: this guy was hasty and made a mistake today, or he was trying to cheat me into agreeing to a $400-500 repair I didn't need. Thanks but no thanks.
