Review for Florida Trucks – Sales with Louis I recently purchased a 1998 F800 with the 5.9 diesel from Florida Trucks, and Louis was my salesperson. From start to finish, the process was exactly as he described. The truck was sold as is, but there were no hidden issues or surprises. I was able to register and insure the truck with no problems at all, and mechanically it was exactly what Louis said it would be. He also included a couple of add-ons, and those were taken care of promptly without hassle. Louis was straightforward, honest, and easy to work with. I would definitely buy another truck from Florida Trucks in the future, and I’d love to see them expand into Vermont so we could have access to rust-free vehicles up here. BUYER BEWARE I purchased a 2013 Silverado for $19,000 in cash a little over two years ago. I regret not having a mechanic inspect it before signing anything. Within the first week, I discovered the truck was severely rusted underneath. It was clear someone had sprayed a coating under the truck and in the bed to hide the extent of the rust. I ended up putting more than $7,000 into repairs, only to later find a hole in the frame near the gas tank. I filed a complaint with the State of Florida, but was told there was nothing they could do because the vehicle was sold “AS‑IS.” The dealership gave me a few hundred dollars to withdraw the complaint, and I took it, hoping I could still save the truck. FloridaTrucks has some of the best and friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered at a car dealership and I’ve been to MANY car dealerships. Allen was my main point of contact from the moment I called to the moment I drove off. Professionalism was off the charts, the man had experience and vast knowledge in the car industry, and even while applying for my loan with my bank over the phone… Allen made sure I was getting the best terms and I wasn’t getting taken advantage of. All these guys care about is closing a deal and making a sale. Went and test drove a unit. Found it had some brake booster issues (I’m a mechanic by trade) I brought it to their attention. Told them I won’t buy it unless that issue is addressed and resolved. They offered to deduct the repair from the sale price. When I gave them a quote to repair it, they said they will fix it in house cause it should be cheaper. Cool. I left a 50% deposit on the truck. When they had the repairs “completed”, they called me back to pick up and finalize the purchase. I went and did just that. Drove less 50 miles away and truck brake system went out. Had a great experience buying a beautiful C5 Corvette from this dealer. I found the car on Car Fax, clicked the “I’m interested” button, and less than an hour later, the salesperson Alan called me. The next day, I came from Tallahassee to look at the car and left the lot with it. I really appreciated Alan for being thorough, and taking me seriously as a prospective buyer throughout the process. Just don’t leave any pens out or the dog may eat them.
