Foothill Smog & Auto Repair

I’ve serviced my car here multiple times, but only later realized the owner is seriously overcharging. Nearly $200 just for the most basic service (oil, oil filter, inspection, tire rotation) is outrageous—well above fair market price. Worse, he pushed unnecessary services, claiming they were “recommended by the manual,” which simply isn’t true. I checked—the manual doesn’t even mention them. I trusted this place because of the five-star ratings, but that trust is gone. Completely misleading and disappointing. I recommend checking nearby shops before you come here. Of course I am reviewing with a fake name to avoid unnecessary trouble - just do some research and you will save money.

Went in during my lunch and was seen right away, even without an appointment. Everything was so smooth and easy. I just asked for a smog check and he was able to get it done! I’d recommend anyone needing one to come here. Everything was put right into the DMV system automatically & he explained it all very clearly. Great service & experience for the price I paid!

Understandably, I can relate to the many 5 star reviews regarding Foothill Smog Auto Repair. Like many car owners, I've had my car serviced by a few other shops over the years. However, no other shop can compare to this shops ownership care and expert knowledge. Not only do I have our family cars smog certified, but all general maintenance and periodic stuff that happens because of o ur long commutes.

Avo is the owner of Foothill Smog and he is great! He has been servicing my family's cars for years. He provides exceptional service at a competitive price. Often he has found things wrong with my vehicles that were covered under warranty and pointed me back to the dealer (Mercedes and Lexus) which saved me thousands of dollars (and cost him money). He runs an honest repair shop and I trust him completely.

I’ve been going to Foothill Smog and Repair for many years and really like going here. Avo, the owner, does great work and it’s always a pleasure to deal with him. He is completely transparent and fair in his pricing of service to be done and makes the process of having my car serviced or fixed stress less.
